Why do you do what is not allowed on the Sabbath ?

Pourquoi le Seigneur Jésus a-t-Il œuvré le jour du sabbat ?

From the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Luke

One Sabbath day, Jesus was walking through the fields ; his disciples were plucking ears of corn and eating them, after having crumpled them in their hands. Then some Pharisees said :  « Why do you do what is not permitted on the Sabbath? « Jesus answered them,  » Have you not read what David did one day when he was hungry, both he and those who were with him ? He went into the house of God, took the bread of the offering, ate it, and gave it to those who were with him, although only the priests are allowed to eat it. And he said to them :  « The Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath.  » And it came to pass on another Sabbath, that he went into the synagogue and taught ; and there was a man there, and his right hand was dry.
Now the scribes and Pharisees were watching him to see whether he was healing on the Sabbath day, that they might find something to accuse him of. 8 But he knew their thoughts ; and he said to the man whose hand was dry, Rise up and stand there in the midst. And he arose and stood up. Jesus therefore said unto them, I ask you whether it is lawful on the sabbath days to do good or to do evil; to save a life or to lose it. And looking round about at them all, he said to him, ‘Stretch out your hand. And he did so, and his hand was healed. But they were filled with fury, and they were talking together about what they might do to Jesus. (Lk 6, 1-11)

The plucked ears

As Jesus was walking through the wheat fields on the Sabbath, his disciples crumpled ears of corn in their hands and ate the grains. The Pharisees blamed them for this. Jesus answered them by the example of David, who, in spite of the law, took the showbread and ate it, and then he declared that he was a Sabbath master. Healing of the man with a dry hand

On another Sabbath Jesus taught in a synagogue where there was a man whose right hand was dry. The Pharisees observed him. But he, knowing their purpose, commanded the man to stand up in the midst of the congregation, and asked them whether it was lawful to do good on the Sabbath or to do evil; and after he had looked at those present for a long time, he said to the sick man, « Stretch out your hand. He did so and was healed. When they saw this, the adversaries were filled with fury and they sought what they could do to Jesus.
